Phenom Society

Privacy Policy

Last updated August 24, 2026

Our approach

Phenom Society respects your privacy. This policy explains what personal information we collect through phenomsociety.com, why we collect it, how it may be handled, and the choices available to you.

Information we collect

When you join the Phenom Society list, contact us, register interest, or otherwise interact with us, we may collect:

  • Your first name and email address.
  • The topics or activities you tell us you are interested in.
  • Your consent preferences and a record of when and how you subscribed.
  • Messages and other information you choose to send us.
  • Basic technical and attribution information, such as page URL, referral source, UTM parameters, browser or device information, and IP address.

How we use information

We use personal information to operate Phenom Society, respond to inquiries, manage our contact list, understand community interests, send requested invitations and updates, improve the site, protect against misuse, and meet legal obligations.

We will not sell or rent your personal information.

Email communications

If you consent to receive emails, we may send occasional messages about gatherings, content, and Phenom Society initiatives. Each marketing email will identify Phenom Society and provide an unsubscribe mechanism. You may also withdraw consent at any time by emailing info@phenomsociety.com.

Service providers and external links

We use service providers to host the website, capture and manage contact information, deliver email, and support site operations. These currently include Netlify and HighLevel/LeadConnector. They process information on our behalf and may process or store it outside Canada, where it may be subject to the laws of another jurisdiction.

The site also links to third-party services such as Meetup, LinkedIn, CanadaHelps, and featured organizations. Their privacy practices apply when you visit their services.

Cookies and external tracking

Our contact-management provider may use cookies or similar technology to recognize site activity, attribute form submissions, prevent duplicate records, and understand how visitors reach the site. You can manage cookies through your browser, although disabling them may affect some functionality.

Retention and safeguards

We retain personal information only as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described here, to maintain consent and unsubscribe records, or as required by law. We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards, but no online system can guarantee absolute security.

Your choices and access rights

You may ask to access or correct personal information we hold about you, withdraw consent, unsubscribe, or request deletion where appropriate. Contact us using the address below. We may need to verify your identity before completing a request.

Children

The Phenom Society website and mailing list are intended for adults and are not directed to children. Capital for Opportunity highlights organizations serving young people, but Phenom Society does not use this website to collect personal information directly from participating children.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as our services or legal obligations change. The date above indicates the latest revision.
